The Crockett Hotel is named after legendary Davy Crockett, soldier, politician, and frontiersman. Davy Crockett is a larger-than-life person and folk hero. He was a man’s man. Davy Crockett was a big hero in the Texas Revolution, and he ended up dying in the Battle of the Alamo. Legend has it that Davy was found in the barracks dead surrounded by sixteen Mexicans that he took out on his own. Davy was truly a warrior and fought for what he believed in without being polished or prideful like some of the other politicians that would damage his political career. There is so much to learn, see, and do around the Crockett Hotel as it sits right next door to The Alamo. It was built in 1909 which makes it over 115 years old.
