When it comes to Jewish food or N.Y. Style Deli, the only place in Houston I recommend is Kenny and Ziggy’s. You have two options, come really hungry, or take home left-overs for another day. The portions are huge and bursting with flavor! My personal favorites are Lox and Bagels, Corned Beef Hash, Cabbage Rolls, Chicken Matzo Soup, on any of the lovely sandwiches, especially the triple decker pictured below. If you still have room to eat after a great meal, you can try the foot long, about four inch wide, chocolate eclair. Let’s not forget the ten inch tall apple pie either. The deserts are magnificent. When I am having one of those days were I feel grain, nuts, fruits, yogurt, and salad are not going to fulfill my hunger, I head over to THIS IS IT SOUL FOOD restaurant.

THIS IS IT cooks a variety of dishes that will fill a stomach to satisfaction, and make a heart feel as warm as when momma says,”I love you.”

My favorite combination is oxtails, candied yams, cabbage, and bread pudding for desert. I can never go wrong. You will never go wrong either, if you enjoy the flavors of Houston’s THIS IS IT. For more information, a menu, or history, visit http://www.houstonthisisit.com/

Niko Niko’s is the best Greek restaurant in Houston in my opinion. My favorite location is located in downtown Houston’s Historic Market Square. This location has a dog park, outdoor dining area, and a cool park for relaxing. There are movie nights, bike meets, music nights, and FANTASTIC Greek food! My favorite dish hands down is the Gyro. If you travel to Houston,Texas stop by Niko Nikos. I promise you will say,”Opa!” For more information check out http://www.nikonikos.com/
