I just love Tacos! They are so versatile for those of us who are true foodies and know, love, and understand quality food. The Velvet Taco lives up to their hype 110%. They offer some of the best tacos I have eaten anywhere and they win the creativity award. A shrimp and grit taco? WTF? Really? That is a home run for us southern folks. Chicken and Waffle tortilla taco? Off the chain! And a cheeseburger taco? Oh, baby! For more information check out their website here https://velvettaco.com/

Torchy’s Taco’s runs with a motto of “Damn Good.” Well, I finally got around to trying them out. Their motto lives up to it’s name. I had a great experience with service and the quality of food. If you love a BIG fat taco like me, then you got to try em’! Oh, and the chorizo queso is legit. Pass the chips!

So a friend says,” I haven’t seen any food photos in awhile. Do you still cook?” I cook almost daily. Ethic, Americana, you name it. I love food and food is life. Here are a few dishes I have made recently. Tacos with Pico De Gallo, Guacamole, and Salsa Verde, Grilled Catfish with peas and couscous, Chicken Fried Steak with Butter Gold Mashed Potatos and Peas, Beef Empanadas with Green Banana Curry, Picadillo with Platanos, Black Beans, Rice, and a Fried Egg, and Fried Chicken with Okra and Corn. I hope my photos inspire you to get into the kitchen and out of the box. Enjoy!
