Pleasure pier http://www.pleasurepier.com/ is built on the old Flagship Hotel pier in Galveston, Texas. This pier rivals Navy Pier in Chicago, or the Santa Monica Pier. Right on the Pier is the famous Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, if you are hungry! http://www.bubbagump.com/ There are snack shops, games, high and low thrill rides, and live music. Here are few photos from the pier. I hope you enjoy and find time to visit!

Just to the North of Houston is a small town called Conroe. Conroe is home to Lake Conroe, one of the best fishing and recreational lakes about 40 miles north of Houston. Right off Hwy 105, in Conroe, is one of the best catfish restaurants in the state of Texas. This restaurant is called Vernon’s Kuntry Katfish. http://www.kuntrykatfish.com/

Not to be long on words, I will let the photos do the talking, but I can tell you this, you will not find better prices, and better catfish anywhere in Texas. The green tomato relish and hushpuppies are out of this world. Oh, and the waitresses and staff, fantastic!

A Big Alligator!

I took this photo at Brazos Bend State Park.

I estimate the size at about 12 feet and 500 plus pounds.

I was 30 feet away when I shot the photo. Brave or stupid? LOL

Philadelphia has their LOVE art and it is very popular for photography. I am very proud that Houston, one of the fastest growing cities in America, now has its own art too. Our art piece is much bigger than Philadelphia. Everything is bigger in Texas!

WE LOVE HOUSTON

The Iron Rattler at Fiesta Texas lives up to its bite, with a 171 foot drop at 81 degrees, a top speed of 70 m.p.h., a zero g barrel roll, camel backs, and some really cool over banked turns. I have ridden many coasters and I must say the Iron Rattler makes me feel as if I am on a wild bull. If you are brave and love thrills, the Iron Rattler will meet your needs.

One place that I think every American should visit is Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Independence Hall is a place with historical facts that will clear up many of the untruths being perpetuated by today’s media regarding the founding fathers of the United States. Namely that the United States was not founded on God. There are more documents here that will verify this truth than anyplace I have ever seen. Here a few photos from my visit.

When I travel, I always look for interesting things in a city. Of all the things I have ever seen, I think this Parthenon replica takes the cake. The Parthenon is located in Acropolis, Greece, and the replica in Nashville, Tennessee of all places. The Original was dedicated to the Goddess Athena and the replica was built for a Tennessee centennial. This is why Nashville is known as, “The Athens of the South.”

Here are a few photos of this monster-sized museum. If you’re in Nashville, stop by and check it out along with the other beautiful sights of the Country Music Capitol.

For a fast, wet, fun ride, there is nothing better than The Boardwalk Beast during the summer. The Boardwalk Beast is located in Kemah, Texas.

I took this photo while hanging at the Boardwalk.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is a quiet road with a speed of 45 m.p.h. that traverses 469 miles of the east coast from North Carolina to Virginia. It is a scenic marvel!

Here are a few photos I took along the way. I hope they inspire you to make a trip down this wonderful road.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a United States National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site that straddles the ridgeline of the Great Smoky Mountains, part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which are a division of the larger Appalachian Mountain chain. The border between Tennessee and North Carolina runs northeast to southwest through the centerline of the park. It is the most visited national park in the United States.

Here a  few photos I have taken within this magnificent park. I hope they inspire you to visit this beautiful place.
