The Blue Ridge Parkway is a quiet road with a speed of 45 m.p.h. that traverses 469 miles of the east coast from North Carolina to Virginia. It is a scenic marvel!

Here are a few photos I took along the way. I hope they inspire you to make a trip down this wonderful road.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a United States National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site that straddles the ridgeline of the Great Smoky Mountains, part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, which are a division of the larger Appalachian Mountain chain. The border between Tennessee and North Carolina runs northeast to southwest through the centerline of the park. It is the most visited national park in the United States.

Here a  few photos I have taken within this magnificent park. I hope they inspire you to visit this beautiful place.

Here is a photo I took of the Lorraine Motel which is now a part of the National Civil Rights Museum.  The Lorraine Motel at 450 Mulberry Street Memphis, Tennessee is where Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated on April 4, 1968.

This photo was taken in Memphis, Tennessee by me. Sun Records is a record label founded in Memphis, Tennessee, starting operations on March 27, 1952.
Founded by Sam Phillips, Sun Records was notable for discovering and first recording such influential musicians as Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash.

Amazing how such a little building turned out so many great artists and hits.

Being a musician and a lover of music it always gave me a desire to tour Graceland.  Elvis transformed music as we know it today. Elvis paved the way for rock n roll.  Elvis is the King Of Rock N Roll!

Perhaps more stars will create museums such as this, because Graceland is truly amazing. For more information on Graceland visit this link http://www.elvis.com/graceland

Here are some photos I took while touring through Elvis’s Graceland. I hope they inspire you to make a trip.

In San Antonio, Texas. there is a place that is so Japanese that you might think you are in Japan. It is Sunken Gardens Japanese Tea Garden located in Brackenridge Park. This park is also home to the San Antonio Zoo.

The park is quiet and lush with exotic vegetation and plants. There is a pavilion and beautiful waterfall within the gardens too. For more information check out http://www.saparksfoundation.org/japaneseteagarden.html

Here are some photos I took while touring the garden. I hope they inspire you to visit this wonderfully, beautiful place, and best yet, it is free.

A macro photo of one of my many red Cherry Shrimp and an Amano Shrimp. Red Cherry Shrimp breed easily in tank and do wonders on algae.

Schlitterbahn New Braunfels has been the #1 water park in America for several years do to its proximity to the Comal River, innovating ride technology, free parking, and the ability to carry your own food in and have a picnic. You have water coasters, tube shoots, water slides, surfing with Boogie Bahn,  and several water play areas for children. In the old section of the park the water is non-chlorinated Comal River water flowing through the rides at 72 degrees. A nice chill that keeps one cool in Texas summer heat and definitely original. I have never seen it done at any water parks in America. I am proud to say I have been chilling out at Schlitterbahn New Braunfels since the opening in 1979.  New Braunfels sister city is Braunfels, Germany, and after a visit to Schlitterbahn you will understand why because German heritage is everywhere. For more information check out their site at http://www.schlitterbahn.com/nb/

Here are a few photos I took at the park last week. I hope they inspire you to find your way their and enjoy a day of fun.

This cash register was around in the days when people could count their money as fast as a computer today. I took this photo at Hinze’s BBQ in Sealy, Texas.
