Bricks

Clay baked rectangles

Many colors of the Earth

Mortared together.

Browsing through my photos, I came across this macro photo I took of some seriously parched earth. It inspired me to write a haiku. Texas went through a monster drought two years ago and has not recovered to this day. The rain has been coming, but we need so much more. Remember! Water is life!

Parched Earth

The ground cracks open.

Life around dries up and dies.

Water the savior.

The Chameleon

My tongue is sticky

Eyes look two ways at same time

Mood changing color.

Summer

Longer days, short nights.

Picnics, beach, swimming, and sun.

Relax and unwind.

Waves

Passing the sandbar

Rapidly rushing to shore

They come crashing down

Memorial Day

Remembering Troops.

Who are gone while we are free.

Never forgotten.

Gangs

We create havoc.

Our lives mean nothing to us.

Neither do your lives.

Smart Boards remind me of a lot of humans that cannot think. You know the ones that are like robots, that only respond, and follow, with no ability to lead.

Smart Board

They call me Smart Board.

I am unable to think.

I only respond.

I looked at my desk and this came to mind.

Stapler

The paper enters

Pressure is applied to me

The pages are held tight.

After watching the news tonight and seeing the tragedy in Moore, OK, this haiku came to me.

Tornado

Violent winds blow.

Possessions flying away.

Only life matters.
