Tooth Ache Tree

Posted: April 27, 2013 in Photography

The Tooth Ache Tree has been given this name because of the numbness it creates when you chew on the bark (thus relieving toothache). It had been used by both Native Americans and early settlers for medicine.

This photo was taken at Chicot State Park in Ville Platte, LA.
