A Costa Rican friend sent this photo to me. The pink necked green pigeon is the most vibrant and colorful of all pigeons, and can be found in Southeast Asia.

The Girl Who Sang
I met a girl who sang a lot.
Her mouth was like a big ole pot.
When she opened wide,
Her eyes popeyed.
Reminding me of kumquats.

This Is It- Soul Food

When I am having one of those days were I feel grain, nuts, fruits, yogurt, and salad are not going to fulfill my hunger, I head over to THIS IS IT SOUL FOOD restaurant.
THIS IS IT cooks a variety of dishes that will fill a stomach to satisfaction, and make a heart feel as warm as when momma says,”I love you.”
My favorite combination is oxtails, candied yams, cabbage, and bread pudding for desert. I can never go wrong. You will never go wrong either, if you enjoy the flavors of Houston’s THIS IS IT. For more information, a menu, or history, visit http://www.houstonthisisit.com/

My stomach sent a message of hunger to my brain and the first thing I thought about was biscuits and gravy. I don’t have them, nor are they available at the moment, so I decided to write a Haiku and imagine them. I hope you enjoy the Haiku.
