Recently I traversed the stairs to the top of Mount Bonnell located on the Colorado River in Austin, Texas. Mount Bonnell is 775 feet high and is Austin’s second highest point. It offers really great views especially of the skyline, surrounding homes, and boaters enjoying the various water activities available.

A Random Photo Collection #1

Around us we are surrounded by so many different things. For some, it is overwhelming, because for whatever reason they just cannot take it all in. For others they just never notice their environment. To them life is boring. For me life has more to offer than I’ll ever take in or even remember. That is where the camera takes over! To capture those moments that create a curiosity, or something I see that I would like to remember. Be it a moment, piece of art, a tree, a bug, a bird, food, signs, etc, etc. There is so much out in our world to keep the mind pleasantly and happily occupied. With that said, here are twenty random photos I have seen just walking around in different environments. This is a first in a series I call random photos and there will be more along the way. Thank you for stopping by and happy shooting to all the fellow photographers that see the world. And for those of you that do not see the world, open your eyes, it is all around you. Some may say, I wish I had a camera. A great camera helps, but you can use a cell phone. All photos here were captured on a cell phone. The camera is in your pocket.

Spring Bluebonnets and More
Posted: March 31, 2018 in Flowers, PhotographyTags: Bluebonnet, Ellinger, Fayette county, Flowers, Industry, Longhorn, New Ulm, Paintbrush flower, sunset, Texas, Texas Bluebonnet, Welcome
As a native born Texan, I am proud of my state flower and look forward to it every spring. Traveling to smaller places away from urban sprawl, I usually encounter another favorite in search of bluebonnets, the Texas Longhorn. Let’s not forget Indian Paintbrushes, Buttercups, Winecups, Phlox, and various other wildflowers too. Then after a day of traveling the reward of a beautiful sunset. Peace! What more could one ask for? These photos were taken in the Ellinger, New Ulm, Industry, and Welcome areas. Enjoy!
The Cistern is a hidden gym near the Joe Jamail Skatepark in Houston. It is an underground adventure like none other. It is the size of 1.5 football fields and has held drinking water for the City of Houston until 2007. The Cistern could hold 15 million gallons of water when at full capacity. There are 221 columns and when you yell your voice travels around for a full 17 seconds. Here are a few photos I took using no flash in night mode. Enjoy! To here the echos in The Cistern I have added a video on my YouTube here https://youtu.be/WMgOr7uuDAM

Spring time is a beautiful time of year. We come out of the freeze of winter and new life sprouts all around us. Birds sing, baby animals are born, and spring blossoms abound. Here are a few photos of Spring tree blossoms. I know one to be Redbuds, but the other three trees I am not sure of. If you know, please share in comments section.
