Wow! This year went by quickly! I enjoyed many great meals with my family and a few while dining out. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Special days and holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. Meals often trigger great memories. It is wonderful to share dinner with friends and family. It was also great to try a few new dishes. This year it is back to highlighting photos of great home cooked meals. Often, I find the food cooked at home far superior to that which can be purchased out. Food is not only great to taste and enjoy, but a beautiful sight to see. Presentation and placement on the plate are important. So, what were my favorites this year? Dishes are listed left to right going downward. We have Baked Chicken Breast with Roasted Vegetables and Sauteed Green Beans, Red Snapper Filet with Argentinian Red Shrimp and Green Beans, Pasta Fusilloni (my dad’s secret recipe) and Broccoli, Asian Inspired Sesame Chicken with Vegetables, Gyros Tostadas (a new creation), Crawfish Etouffee and Chicken with Mustard Greens, Mexican Taco Bowl, Meatloaf with Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes at Cleburne’s Cafeteria, Argentinian Red Shrimp Stir Fry with Noodles and Vegetables, Fried Catfish with Beets, Cabbage, and Fried Okra Luby’s Cafeteria, Stromboli Sandwich at Spanky’s Pizzeria, and the one and only #1 Hamburger in America the Bill’s Burger at Beck’s Prime. 2024! What can I say? This year I had some great meals dining out and some made by my family. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Special days and holidays such as Thanksgiving and Christmas. The good times sometimes are created by taking food that would not otherwise be a selection and turning it into a masterpiece. Meals often trigger great memories for me. It is wonderful to share dinner with friends and family. It was also great to try a few new dishes. Super memories! This year I have chosen to highlight photos of restaurant dishes as well as some of the dishes that were cooked by family members. From top left going right and back and forth down the page we have Casa Rio San Antonio, Top Water Grill, Banh Mi Burger by my daughter, Fusion Taco, Niko Niko’s, Top Water Grill, Shri Balaji Bavan, Rigatoni with Sweet Italian Sausage by my daughter, Pho Ben Bellaire, Fadi’s Meyerland, Thanksgiving Gabby’s BBQ and Mom, and Asian Style Chicken with Stir Fried Vegetables my wife. Food is not only great to taste and enjoy, but a beautiful sight to see. Presentation and placement on the plate are important. Thank you for supporting my blog with your readership and views. I’m going into my twelfth year of blogging now. Working to fit it in between work and my drumming YouTube Channel, https://www.youtube.com/@AlbertMoyerJr. Wow, time flies! May God continue to provide. And may we all learn to love, live, enjoy great meals together, and get along in the way God intended. Bon Appetit!

I have long loved Greek Food and Olympia Grill at Pier 21 fills that need when I am relaxing down on Galveston Island. The Greek Sampler offers a great selection at a reasonable price and best of all it is delicious. Pictured here is the Taste Of Olympia platter featuring hummus, tzatziki, falafel & dolma, Greek salad, spanakopita, gyro slices, pastitsio, moussaka & vegetables. Also pictured is a dessert platter sampler. The views are outstanding and one can often see the cruise ships leave the Port of Galveston and the clipper ship Elissa.
