Over the holidays, I grabbed my cell and took a photo of my parent’s beautiful orange tree. Unfortunately, these oranges are bitter. They look beautiful, but the only serve to work as a marinade for meat, or one could make a bitter marmalade from them. I can only stare at them, enjoy their beauty, and think, “Why are you not sweet?”

I meant to post this photo a few weeks back, but I got side tracked with the holidays, and all that was going on. It is one of the most vibrant colors of red leaves I have ever seen in Houston. We truly had four seasons this year.  Enjoy!

I am always amazed at how the bottle brush buds pop out from their little pods. Here is a macro photo before the big brushy phase.

While walking along a trail I notice this really insteresting looking bark pattern that I have never seen before. I do not know what tree this is, but it has colorful bark. Perhaps one of you will identify this tree.
