I took this photo while this white egret was eyeing the Koi goldfish at Sunken Gardens Park San Antonio.

Periodically, I come across birds that I cannot photo readily due to geographic location. This is one such bird. I never knew the Golden Pheasant, AKA The Chinese Pheasant existed, until I stumbled across this amazing photo by Thomas J. Walsh.  I read this bird is pretty native to China and Asia.

Tooth Ache Tree

The Tooth Ache Tree has been given this name because of the numbness it creates when you chew on the bark (thus relieving toothache). It had been used by both Native Americans and early settlers for medicine.
