Many Americans lives are now 24/7. Technology has come along with the promise to make things easier, but it has actually become a two-edged sword. So in this new, modern, three-ring circus who is controlling who?
Stress and anxiety seem to be a modern standard for most people. Does it have to be this way?
God designed us with a sense of rhythm.
Let’s take a look at what it says in the Bible.
Jesus was a busy man. He knew that he had to separate himself from the world and re-charge. Matthew 14:23 states,”After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone.”
Jesus also states in Matthew 1 28-30,” Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
So right in the Bible we learn that we should take time for ourselves and rest, and places our worries upon Jesus.
So the next time your worries take you beyond your personal threshold, take time out for yourself, step away, and best of all ask Jesus to take control.
If you make this a habit, just like eating, I promise your life will be vastly different.
