2021 continued where 2020 left off. It was another awkward year. Lost work, layoffs, food shortages on certain items, frozen city with no electricity for days, you name it. This year I focused my culinary energy on the good times. Birthdays, Anniversaries, Special days (IE: Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc,), and holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving. For me a meal means so much more than filling my stomach. Often there are good times involved and the meal is a marker of those good times. It was great to share so many great meals with so many great people in 2021. Super memories! This year I have chosen to squeeze in some photos of my own dishes as well as some of the dishes I enjoyed while eating out. Thank you for supporting my blog with your readership. It’s been an awkward year, but a great year. May God continue to provide. Bon Appetit!

Dupuy’s Seafood & Steak 2021
Posted: April 3, 2021 in FoodTags: Digital photography, Dupuy's Seafood & Steak, Louisiana, Oysters, Restaurant, Travel and Tourism
I heard about a restaurant that has served customers for 150 plus years. That is amazing in it’s own right. Being a fan of the superfood Oysters I learned Dupuy’s in Abbeville, Louisiana have some of the best. As I stepped in to this classic restaurant the scent of seafood and steak hit my nose like a beautiful food potpourri. The environment was classic Cajun and the service was excellent as I was welcomed like family. I ordered the Oyster combo with salad and shared white chocolate bread pudding. My plate came with Grilled Oysters, Fried Oysters, Oysters Rockefeller, and Sweet Potato Fries. The other dishes served were a monster foot long Shrimp Po-Boy and Oysters Rockefeller and Oysters de Ville. Everything was excellent and Dupuy’s will always be a stop for me when in Abbeville. Houston has a restaurant that can make your feel as if your right home in Southern Louisiana Cajun Country. This restaurant is known as Ragin Cajun. Ragin Cajun serves some of the best po-boys, red beans and rice, boudin balls, gumbo, etouffe, jambalaya, crawfish, shrimp, blue crabs, and oysters on the half-shell around. The accordion’s sing out of the speakers as Cajun music is played. The tables inside are linked together, so you get a community feel, and often find yourself talking to complete strangers. Unless your related to the Scrooge, your tongue should dance to the flavors of Ragin Cajun. For more information visit http://www.ragin-cajun.com/
